WHAT IS IT?
This is an irritation of the ulnar nerve located on the inside of the elbow. When this nerve becomes injured, it causes inflammation at the site.
WHAT CAUSES IT?
It can be cause due to repetitive motions such as pulling, lifting or generally bending at the elbows very often.
Previous injuries to the elbow such as bone spurs, old fractures, previous dislocations and arthritis can all contribute to the development of this syndrome.
In many cases, the causes are unknown.
Diagnostic tests such as Nerve conduction tests, Electromyogram (EMG) and X-rays may be performed to determine a diagnosis.
Steroid Injections or surgery should be considered if other treatment methods do not bring relief.
